Compilation an Integrated Package of Divorce Prevention based on Compassion, Forgiveness and Transactional Analysis in Couples Seeking Divorce

Abstract

Background and Objective: Nowadays, marital problems and challenges have increased significantly and the divorce rate has increased significantly compared to the past. Therefore, the aim of this study was compilation an integrated package of divorce prevention based on compassion, forgiveness and transactional analysis in couples seeking divorce.

Methods and Materials: The present research was applied in terms of purpose and qualitative in terms of implementation method. The research population was psychology and counseling experts of Sabzevar township in 2024 year, which 12 people of them were selected according to the principle of theoretical saturation with purposive sampling method. The tool of this study was a semi-structured interview with experts about an integrated package of divorce prevention based on compassion, forgiveness and transactional analysis in couples seeking divorce; so that after designing the aforementioned structure for each session were designed the goal, content and homework separately. The data obtained from the interview were analyzed with using methods of theme analysis coding and content validity ratio coefficients and content validity index in MAXQDA-2020 software.

Findings: The results of this research showed that the integrated package of divorce prevention based on compassion, forgiveness and transactional analysis in couples seeking divorce was designed for 10 sessions of 90 minute and each session had its own specific goal, content and homework. In addition, the content validity ratio and content validity index for the integrated package of divorce prevention based on compassion, forgiveness and transactional analysis in couples seeking divorce were calculated 0.76 and 0.83, respectively.

Conclusion: According to the results of this study, an integrated package of divorce prevention based on compassion, forgiveness and transactional analysis in couples seeking divorce can be used alongside other treatment packages by psychologists, counselors and therapists as an effective method to improve psychological characteristics in couples seeking divorce.
