Abstract

Extra-marital relationships are one of the difficulties and problems that are always a threat to spouses and one of the most important family and social harms during life. The aim of the research was to compare the effectiveness of integrated transdiagnostic and short-term psychodynamic treatments in the well-being of virtuous women affected by marital infidelity. A semi-experimental research method was used and a pre-test-post-test-follow-up plan was used with a control group. The statistical population of women affected by marital infidelity in the city of Jam in the first six months of 1401 and the statistical sample was 45 eligible women who volunteered to refer to the Social Studies Counseling Center. After evaluation, people were randomly assigned to experimental groups (integrated meta-diagnostic therapy and short-term psychodynamic therapy) and control group (15 people in each group). Then, the short-term psychodynamic group was treated for 12 sessions and the integrated meta-diagnostic group was treated for 8 sessions, and the control group was on the waiting list. After the end of the interventions, a post-test and a follow-up was done after two months. The measurement tool was the virtue oriented well-being questionnaire of Waterman et al. (2010). Covariance analysis and SPSS-25 software were used to test the hypothesis.   The results showed that integrated meta-diagnostic therapy and short-term dynamic therapy were effective in increasing virtue-oriented well-being, and integrated meta-diagnostic therapy was more effective than short-term psychodynamic therapy, and this effect is permanent over time (P<05). Integrated transdiagnostic and short-term psychodynamic treatments are effective in increasing the virtue-oriented well-being of affected women and can be used in their counseling.
