Abstract

Introduction and purpose: Despite the attractiveness and usefulness of the Internet, today we are faced with problems that endanger the general health of the individual and ultimately the society. Behavioral dependence on the Internet, regardless of whether it is considered a psychological injury or a social problem, is a chronic and recurrent phenomenon that is associated with serious physical, financial, family, social and psychological harm, and in this regard, factors such as psychological factors , cognitive, family and social are involved. Based on this, the present study was conducted with the aim of comparing impulsivity and feeling of loneliness among addicted and non-addicted high school girls in the city of Tehran. Method: The research is applied in terms of purpose and descriptive in terms of causal-comparative (post-event) type. In this study, 100 female students studying in the academic year 1401-1400 were selected by simple random sampling method. In this research, three types of tools were used: Young's Internet Addiction Questionnaire (IAT), Loneliness Test (UCLA) and Barrett's Impulsivity Scale (BIQ). The sources of the research were field, and spss software version 22 was used to analyze the collected data, and appropriate tests were used according to the assumptions. Findings: The findings showed that impulsivity and loneliness in students addicted to the Internet are significantly different from normal students. Conclusion: Based on the findings of this research, it can be concluded that impulsivity and feeling of loneliness are more in Internet addicted teenagers compared to normal teenagers.
